1861 Census

By the time of the 1861 Census, Daniel Jones and his wife Ann together with his family were living at 9, Victoria Street, Merthyr Tydfil. However, there’s no sign of my 2 x Grandfather, Moses. The census record shows Daniel as 59 and Ann 56 with him working as a ‘Haircutter‘. It confirms that he was born in Ceredigion (Cardiganshire) and although not very clear or perhaps the writer wasn’t sure of the spelling it looks like Llanfihangel. Ann is shown as being born in Aberystwyth, which is next to Llanbadarn Fawr where they married in 1830.
