This is an audio only tape recording made by my father Ivor Jones at Christmas 1966 in my Grandparents flat in Margate, Kent. He had a reel to reel tape recorder which would give him great fun, hiding it at family gatherings and saving the conversations for posterity. Unfortunately, this is the only tape that has survived and has now been digitised, placed on Youtube where it should stay for evermore. The people talking are my Grandparents, Shoni & Annie Jones, my parents, Ivor & Coral Jones and Annie’s sister Jane Yates and her husband Norman. The sound quality isn’t brilliant, but I think it’s still worth sharing as it really is a brief moment in time captured forever.
