Tommy Francis whose real name was James Francis Davies died suddenly in Carlisle in 1937. He was performing in Pantomime, Cinderella, playing the dame. He was taken ill after the performance and was rushed to hospital in Carlisle where he sadly passed away aged 64. He was the husband of Annie Jane (Jones) Davies and we can see that his son Eric Davies who later went on to make a career in film and television, officially reported the death.
